I have enjoyed painting for well over fifty years primarily painting in black acrylic with fine tip brushes. The scenes were what are called realistic in black and white. However, I have always wanted to be proficient with color. Ok, I airbrush my models like olive green for armor and such but the need for color understanding was lacking. Last year i started to learn more about painting fantasy miniatures and a whole new world of paint and types blew me away. I had no idea such paint types existed. Watching Y T and reading blogs has pushed me into painting these miniatures in ways I could never have imagined. As a result, my painting of scale models and understanding of paint colors have vastly improved.
It feels funny being the old guy in the store buying miniatures and paint, but I have gained some old guy respect from some of the younger folks playing Warhammer at the tables and the store owner.
