I would strip it and start over.

It's always a good idea to do a test on a sacrifice piece.

Good luck,

Getting back into model building. Working on 1966 Malibu.  Thought I was applying a gloss clear coat. Turns out I sprayed glosscote which is very dull. Can I apply a regular testers gloss over the glosscote and restore the shiny finish? It left a white film on my black painted stripes also.

I have sprayed glosscoat over dullcoat and gotten a gloss finish.  But are you used a bad supply of glosscoat?  I have never had a white tinge with dullcoat.

I think the problem I'm having is that I thought I was spraying a gloss clear coat when I bought it for this model. I didn't use a dullcoat. I just sprayed it thinking I was going to have a nice shiny finish.  I think my paint job and finish is a goner.  Thank you for replying. Things have changed since the early 80's when I was building model cars.
