Any takers for the UK Nationals?
Posted by TANGO 1 on Sunday, May 2, 2004 4:34 PM
Smile [:)]]Hi all from sunny England! Yes, it has stopped raining for 5 minutes!

Ok, I'll get straight to it. If you will be in the UK on the weekend of 20/21 Nov.'04 then the place to be is the IPMS UK Nationals held in Telford, Shropshire. It's a huge event(see last issue of FSM) enough to fill three exibition halls and the quality of work on display will not dissapoint. Oh yes, there's plenty of shopping to be done too!Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D] Just don't bring your credit card-it'll meltTongue [:P]

I'll be there both days and it would be nice to put some faces to some names around here and say "Hi". So If any of you are interested or want info. leave a post or shoot an email.

Hope I see some of you there!

I will pencil it into my diary. Is there a web site or other info regarding this event? How do you get to enter a model? Do you have to be a member of a club?
See you there

Hi Darren. is it ok to send you my home phone no?. if you could call me it would make arranging a trip to newark much easier. if we can arange a date for it with enough time in advance maybe some others from the forum could join us there too. it'll probably have to be a sunday though ( if i remember right the museum is only open half day saturday). i too work shifts so i know what you mean (what social life LoL).
Dave, Karl, are you guys interested in this trip? let me know via this thread (or e-mail if you prefer) and lets see what we can come up with. i'm sure there will be a date that suits all of us. (btw this is an open invitation to all FSMers)
later and best regards.

Sure that's OK greg, I'll grab my diary before I give you a shout. I'll need to check with my missus too-she does shifts as well! (and we don't have a child minder) You would'nt believe how much effort it takes just to go for a drink at my local these days!!

Later,

Darren.

I have no problem with either day. As it draws closer we should make some kind of arrangement to meet up at the event. I will drive down on the day and see you there.

Greg, Saturday would be better for me as I have to take my eldest to Rugby on a Sunday morning, however if push comes to shove I sure my better half could take him. I'm sure she'd enjoy that in November!!!!

Hi Dave, Karl, i was thinking of having a small meet at Newark before the nats an thats what i am trying to organise. i was originaly thinking of having it on the 6th july. but i will be taking the date back a while due to it only being four weeks away and ihmo thats not really enough time for everyone to organise their trip.
what do you guys think of this?.
best regards
Greg

Greg, do you mean 6th of June or July?

June 6th is a definite no-no, as it's my other half's birthday. Easy to rember though.

Slight correction, my other half is now saying she is away mid July, so any date either side of that is fine by me.

Smile [:)] Hi all,
I've just got off the phone after speaking to Greg and we have a definate date for the Air Museum trip to Newark.Approve [^]
We're going on Sunday 11th of July this year. We have'nt sorted out a time for all of us to get together at the venue so I'll suggest 12.00hrs. This should give long-distance travellers (like me!Big Smile [:D]) plenty of time to get there.

The museum houses one of the largest private collections in the country so don't forget your camera!
