As you check out these other posts, remember that a lot of these 'tools' can be found around the house and don't have to cost anything. Raid your wife's cosmetics corner for nail clippers(spue cutters), nail files and emery boards(sanding sticks). Clothes pins work great as clamps for glueing etc. You can be creative not only in what you build but also in the tools you use.

What do you need? A tube of Model Cement(Testors is best! Nothing beats it!), 5 paintbrushes, a hobby knife, a jar of Thinner(or water, depending on if you're using enamels or acrylics, respectively), and the BARE MINIMAL amount of paint you need for your current model project. If you want filler, use white glue. If you don't wanna fog your clear parts from cement fumes, use white glue. If you need something not in this list, use white glue. This complete(well, complete listing of my puny assortment of tools) list is all you need to pump out great looking models! And, it's cheap, too!(Which, secretly, is the only reason I use so few tools! I would kill to get my hands on an airbrush, a compressor, and a Dremel power tool set!)

What do I need to get started

Call me stupid or whatever, but I am getting back into building models and dioramas. Having been away from the hobby for a number of years, any suggestions on what I will need as a basic modelling and diorama kit to get started. I am mostly into armor, infantry scenics, and military themed dioramas.

It may sound a bit crazy, but a detailed list is what I am kind of looking for. Outside of your basic model glue, and the model itself, please give me a few ideas on what to add to the basic kit.

Thanks for your patience and indulgence....
