possible offshoot of "its time to take a break"

"Fightnjoe and I were kicking this around in a post last week. More his idea than mine. I called it a group "Paint" idea because the subject isn't limited to airplanes or cars or any one topic.

The idea is the best original paint scheme based on the object's name. For example, a F-15 "Eagle" wearing eagle livery. An F-14 "Tomcat" dressed as a tomcat, an F4U or A7 Corsair painted as a pirate's corsair. Or a Seawolf class submarine or Ford Mustang wearing original paint based on their names. The choices are many and I think nicknames such as "Jug", "Thud", "Forked Tail Devil", etc. should be allowed.

The kit can be a throw-together because detail doesn't really matter. You can certainly make it as detailed as you want, but the paint scheme is the goal. No decals, original paint only.

Obviously this is going to eliminate a bunch of us, myself included!, who have very little artistic talent, but I thought it would be a good way to let those who are artistically inclined to let that talent show through.

Any thoughts on this? I have no artistic ability but I'd be glad to host the photos of the finished models on my web site and do whatever I can to make things go smoothly."

music city posted this in the paint forum i thought maybe it might get more attention here. if we get enough response this could turn into a group build after some of the others have run their course.
