What did you get at Hobby Lobby?
Posted by stram8777 on Monday, June 14, 2004 2:51 PM
Just cause I love hearing what everyone got at the Hobby Lobby sale I am starting this topic.
I got the following kits:
1/48 Accurate Miniatures B-25C/D
1/72 Academy F4U-1 Corsair
1/72 Academy P-51B Mustang
1/72 Academy P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback"
1/72 Academy P-47D Thunderbolt "Eileen"
1/48 Accurate Miniatures F-6B TAC Recce Mustang
1/72 Kangnam A-4E/F Skyhawk
1/25 Revell '69 Camaro Yenko/SC

I went to the local Hobby Lobby early with my wife and her blessing, because they have picture frames half off also, and they didn't have much. Thankfully the frame she wanted was destroyed so went went to a second store that is maybe 20 miles away. That is where I got all of the great stuff. She got her picture frame also. Now she wants to go to the other Hobby Lobby by the airport tomorrow tto look for a couple more frames so it is smooth sailing for me.

Good luck at Hobby Lobby to all.

I walked into one this weekend. And although models were not 1/2 price. They seemed to have mismarked a few. I picked up a Tamiya 1/48 F4F Wildcat for $11.99, and a Tamiya A6M3 for $10.99. The rest were marked at $24.99. I asked the checkout clerk if it was a mistake (because I really hate stealing) and she said they charge by what the tag says. Yippee! 2 great kits for the price of one.

Nothing!!! (on Monday...edited on Tuesday!)

I happened to be over on the right side of town today and decided to give Hobby Lobby one more chance. Boy, did I make the right choice!

Not only had they cleaned up their "remodeling" disaster from yesterday, but they also restocked the model shelves. Still no decent armor kits to offer, here are the results of my shopping spree:

Polar Lights NX-01 Enterprise 1/350
Tamiya F4U-1A Corsair 1/48
Revell P-38 J/L Lightning 1/32
Revell F4U-1D Corsair 1/32

Total price: $53.00

I'm a happy camper again! Big Smile [:D]

Man, too bad you can't come to Bartleville OK. They have the new Enterprise NX-01, and some other sci-fi movie stuff. A bunch of 1/24 scale planes and armor, and a ton of Tamiya and AM stuff. This Hobby Lobby is one of the old ones and is very small, but I like it. Too bad I live 2 hrs from it and work during their operating hours.

On my last trip to Hobby Lobby I picked up a few more things:
1/35 Imex Ah-64A Apache (can anyone tell me about these kits never had an Imex before)
1/35 Academy AH-1W Super Cobra
1/25 AMT/ERTL mid-90's Firebird
1/48 Tamiya Zero
1/72 Academy P-40e Warhawk
AMT/ERTL Batmobile and the
AMT/ERTL Batwing (just for fun)
and let me say the Accurate Miniatures B-25 is quite possibly the nicest model I have ever seen.

HL is a very strange company when it comes to store locations. You would think they would hit the biggest population centers first, but that's not the case. It's a bit weird, but works for them I guess.

BTW: There are 6 HL's currently in Michigan: Adrian, Jenison, Kalamazoo, Kentwood, Norton Shores, and Walker.

What do you say to a "roadtrip"? Big Smile [:D]

Take care,

With gas at $1.61 in OK compared to $1.98 in KS, and all models at 1/2 price, I'd be stupid not to convince the wife that I need to go to OK to gas up.Big Smile [:D] With the savings I get in gas, I could buy two more models. YIPPEE!

Unfortunately - nothing. The Hobby Lobby in my area is still under construction. Maybe after it is finished I will be able to take advantage of those sales.

Yep I was there Tuesday and they just got a new shipment with new stuff. Picked up the Nakajima night fighter Gekko Type 11 and the P-47bubbletop. Will be going back Friday and getting more. BTW My wife fully supports my hobby and does not mind that I have kits everywhere.

1/48 Minicraft Piper Cherokee 140 (PA-28-141)

I buy the GA stuff everychance I get. Now i have five Cherokees!
