I've made GB patches for the "Aussie Group Build", the "Accurate Minatures Group Build", and the up-n-coming "WWII Sub Group Build". (**you can select my profile and view those GBs there).

I personal dont use MS Paint, cos it removes alot of detail and the image is very blurred when shrunk. I use a higher quaility graphics program (eg Adobe Photoshop). This package is great - that's where I did my animations for the Sub GB.

I start off with a 100x100 pixel image and work from there, then shrink it to whatever size. The size most popular size of Patche around ere is 65-pixel height, and either 65 - 100 pixel width. But I make mine 70x70.

You will get some natural blurring if you shrink an image, esp text, so I suggest write your text in the font size that is the exactly how big you want it on the real 1:1 Group Badge!

Good Luck - any questions you can email me!!!!!!!!!!
