My wife decided to clean my workbench area once early on in our marriage (will be 8 years in August) and do me the "favor" of organizing things.

While we are on the subject of alternate uses, who knew that channel-lock pliers were good for anything but opening paint bottles? Big Smile [:D]

Oh man oh man oh man, matt thansk for posting this. I really needed somewhere to vent LOL. I came home the other night from work and found my wife in the kitchen... mopping the floor.... with my big bottle of future.... my spare bottle that I havent opened yet. Ok, our 1 br apartment is 740 SQF total so you know its not a big kitchen, the 2 of us cant be in there at the same time. I was like, ok thats cool have a nice shinny floor in here I can slide on in my socks...cool. Told my wife it looked really good in there and thanked her. She smiled and squeezed some more on, that's when I noticed HALF the frikkin bottle was gone. I had a small nuclear explosion inside but didn't say anything but went to my workbech and cried. WOMAN!!

The last visit my sister and her family made my niece wanted to paint me a picture while I was at work. You can probably guess by now that she used my paints and left the lids of all the jars. You can't get angry, but next time I visit I think I'll use all her crayons.

I wouldn't mind it so much as my oldest is a model builder, but why must he use all my brand new paints before I have had a chance to use them. I have replaced 3 bottles of dark yellow, 5 bottles of flat black and numerous bottles of other colors. It seems to me that he is in his own little battles in North Africa, Eastern Front and Western Europe every other week. Maybe I need to find a place that sells Tamiya Paint by the gallon.

I've got a pretty substantial set of modeling tools - I'm probably a bit OCD about it all - a specific place for everything - that way I always know where it is. But those horrible folks who share my house (my wife and kids) often "borrow" my tools and THEY DON'T PUT THEM BACK!!!!!!!!!
Drives me in-freakin-sane!!!
I'm thinking about installing electrified barbed wire, moats full of crocodiles, and minefields.
And if it continues, I'll get serious!!!

This has to be an argument for secure storage......

........like a mini modelling vault!!!!!

Or just secure storage of the kids instead!!!

My youngest keeps nicking the Blutack I use for masking.

My daughter when she was three used half a (new) roll of Tamiya masking tape to decorate the legs of our dining room table because she liked the colour!

My wife is also constantly borrowing my Xacto knives and using them to cut up boxes and so on. The knives are always returned, but I only discover that the new blade that I put in the other night is blunt when I'm trying to trim something delicate and vital. Banged Head [banghead]

In my house it's just the opposite. I am constantly raiding my wifes stash of those little make-up sponges ( great for applying Pastels ), Panty Hose ( makes great paint strainers ), Nail Polish remover ( smooths putty ), & misc. stuff like nail files, clippers, etal. Whenever she can't find said items, she has learned to head straight for my work-bench.

I feel your pain, Swanny! [:0]My kids take my white glue, my tweezers, my toothpicks, masking tape, X-acto knives, straightedge, paintbrushes -whatever's not nailed down!
Nothing's safe anymore! I'm lucky they OCCASIONALLY return the stuff when they're through (if there's any left!) Disapprove [V]

Just think, they may even use your toothbrush sander to actually brush their teeth! [:0] I can't stand the thought. Disapprove [V]

LOL,

Kids!!! Leave it to them to start using products for their intended purpose. Next thing you know, she'll be using toothpicks to pick her teeth! I can't understand it!
