                        Went into the store today to buy the fixins for dinner, on the way to the front went by the toy section and lo and behold there is Monograms P-51D sitting on the shelf. Hesitatingly I reach up and pick it up, afraid what the price was going to be (The same store once had a Monogram Skyraider for 29.99!!) nearly went into shock when I saw it was only 5.99! I immeadiately bought it. Got it home and opened it up and there was NO instruction sheet. What a bummer. Now I have to call Monogram and see how much they are going to charge me for a replacement. Don't you just love those bittersweet moments?

                        That does suck.

                        I remember a couple of years back I picked up a Revell-Monogram 1/48 F-16 ADV kit for a steal of a price. Got it home and there were more than a couple of nasty surprizes.

                        Bad enough it was simply a reissue of the nightmarish Revell F-16 A kit from the early 80s with a couple of extra sprues for the updates, but it had an incompletely molded canopy, half an instruction sheet and water damaged decals!

                        I might have tried to get replacement stuff for it, but considering the ancient Revell lineage of most of the kit components and that much better can be got today, the kit hit my spares box in short order.

                        Monogram kits have instructions? I thought that was just packing material with a bunch a writing on it written in French, oh wait, thats Heller, Monogram is in what I think is supposed to be English but looks more like DutchBig Smile [:D]

                        i paid full price for the dragon mistle (he 162+ ar 377) and it's missing the wings, tail, engine, landing gear, and the instructions for the 162 :(

                        Seriously, have you ever seen an instruction sheet that was "backwards?" A few years ago, my friend and I drove ourselves nuts trying to figure out how to assemble a toy tractor for his then-three-year-old son. We studied and studied the instruction sheet and we couldn't figure it out! At one point I said to him, "This is nuts! I can put together the most complicated model plane but I can't put together a kid's toy tractor?"

                        After a LONG time, it finally dawned on me that the instructions were for how to take the thing APART! The tractor came pre-assembled and it was meant to be taken APART (a reverse model kit? An anti-model kit?) so the kid could reassemble it! Once I figured it out, it was a pretty easy process to put that stupid tractor back together. Like I told my friend, "I'm a model builder! I'm used to putting things together, not taking them apart!"Smile [:)]

                        Once again, THANK YOU!!!!! I was about ready to rip the phone out of the wall and personally go to Monogram headquarters and shove it into a very delicate place, then I remembered that would cut my internet connection also. I kept track of the amount of time I was on the phone and I was just shy of 4 HOURS. Why do they even bother putting the number on the box?

                        What I really needed the instructions for was for the markings. Theres a lot there and it has a different paint scheme. BTW I'm doing Lt Welchs' Miss Marilyn II. I found one on the internet but the colours used weren't cited.
