G'Day Roosta,

If you are talking about the 1/32 FA18, Hobbies Australia have it at the moment for $169.95. If we are talking the same thing your LHS 'is dreaming'!!!

hey ROOSTA

here is a Aussie Hobby Shop Directory plus a page with links to Aust & Int. Hobby Stores and other manufacturers (eg Aftermarket, etc). Just something to add to your Favourites folder:

http://pmms.webace.com.au/links.htm
http://pmms.webace.com.au/shops.htm
http://pmms.webace.com.au/producers.htm

this page is kept up-to-date(ish) and has contact details and links to there webpages (this may help you in your search).

good luck

ROOSTA,
Can't comment on Hobart shops, as Ive never been there but I have noticed the large range of prices for the same kit thoughout Australia, even here in SA the prices can vary greatly, and we only have about 5 hobby shops here.
Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.

I lived in Launceston for about 10 years before i moved back to QLD.
I miss the Wilderness + the ski slopes were only a hour away from home.

The Academy Hornet in 32 scale @ $240.00 that's the current RRP. It's high I agree but the agents set the price and they blame the fluctuations of the exchange rates at the time.

Snowy Mountain Models are another Victorian based Hobby Shop, who do a lot of trade direct from the manufacturuers, their in the Melbourne suburbs of Altona. Can't remember their web site though.

I hope it helps
Rob.

Thanks for the help, The links are really usefull. The cheapest place I could find was in Malaysia and they only stocked Tamiya very cheap though. Still now I have a lot more options.

The snowy mountains models site is www.smmodels.com . $240 for a kit is a bit expensive. I could have picked up the Academy 1/32 hornet from a trader at the ACTSMS comp recently for $140. Maybe I should have bought it now I've seen the prices they are going for.
