P-40s in 1/48.

I've always had a soft-spot for the P-40, which I believe has been underrated as a fighter. Not to mention that the planes sport some of the best nose art to keep a modeler happy and busy for a lifetime of buildingSmile [:)].

Have to agree with Chris about the 1/48 scale-best compromise between size and detail.

German armor in 1/35 scale. Especially Tigers and Panthers. I guess I'm just a cat-kind-of-guy.

I like to build modern planes and helicopters. For some reason, WWII doesn't really interest me yet. Once I get all my modern kits built up, I will likely start modeling some of the older planes.

Preferably I would build all my planes in 1/32, but since there are only a handful of planes in that scale, as well as the shear cost, consequently I build in 1/48. For helicopters, I build in 1/35. 1/48 heli's are just too small for me.

My Favorites are 1/24 automobiles because I really love older cars!! The Classics Especially!! But I got into it because fiance started building some of my dad's old kits!! All military vehicles!! And I got hooked!! I figured there is not better way for me!! To learn more about how cars work and the different makes and years!! Plus I love painting!! I'm a color freak!! Secondly though would be figurines!! I haven't done any recently but I use to paint 1/25 ? Scale ceramic figures as a teen!! So Always check out the figurine section!! Cheers!! Cool [8D]Cool [8D]

!/48 WW2 aircraft at the moment but I do enjoy building Formula 1 cars, Moto GP bikes and ships. I don't like to stick to one subject/ scale, it gets a bit repetitive otherwise.

This is a question that could easily be put into a poll. One that model manufacturers would do well to read.
I model trucks, big trucks, small trucks, military trucks, civilian, trucks. Did I say I liked trucks? Scale 1-87. Imagine trying to fit my just about 300 tractor trailers in one room if they were 1-35.

WW2 aircraft, particularly RAAF, in 1/48 scale because it's a nice compromise between the size advantages of 1/72 and the detail of 1/32

In the queue: 1/48 Beech Staggerwing (RAAF), P38 (RAAF), Vultee Vengeance (RAAF), Spitfire Vb (Malta), Spitfire VIII x2 (RAAF), P39 x2 (RAAF), Martin Baltimore (Malta?), Martin Maryland (Malta), Typhoon NF1b, Hellcat x2 (FAA)

WW II aircraft in 1/72. Why? Maybe because I'm interested in a/c which saw action here during the war (and also I like spinning those props in the model).

armor: big time.

1/35 for the serious stuff, and 1/72 for the fun side.

World War II - ships & aircraft. In 1/350 and 1/72 scales, respectively.

Those are my favorites, but I will frequently break from them for some sci-fi (usually Star Trek) or something else so I don't get burnt out on WWII.

Number 1 - Ships - 1/350 Naval Subjects WWI to Modern
Number 2 - Aircraft - 1/48 WWII to Modern (mixed with a bit of Real Space)
Number 3 - Cars - 1/24 Modern Era (just starting to get addicted with this one)

Why? - dunno . . .

yep, definitely redundant, but still fun Smile [:)]
Right now, I'd say that 95% of all my modeling is 1/35 scale armour. I can say that the only armour I'm interested in is WWII and onwards to the present. Nothing prior to that interests me.
I love the look of these war machines, and the fact that they can be modeled used. They just look alive, busy, and very satisfying. And the scale is just perfect for me. Small enough so that they're still reasonably sized, and large enough to have the amount of detail I want.

That's a hard one!!
1/24 scale autos
1/48 WWll aircraft
1/9 autos and motorcycles
1/12 motorcycles (a specialty)
and modifying 1/18 die cast cars - I know, they're not really models........but if someone is going to pay me a stupid amount of money to personalize their diecast cars, who am I to argue?

Cheers, LeeTree

Favorite subject: WWII armor/vehicles/guns
Scale: 1/35
Why?: I've always had an interest in the WWII time period and mechanical creations. The scale is my favorite because it's large enough to get good detail without completely breaking the bank.

Favorite scale - Large! 1/24 or 1/32 due to the fact I am not as nimble as I used to be. Favorite subject WWII aircraft as I lived through the period when they ruled the skys.

Sure, it's reduntant! But what isn't these days?

Favorite subject:
Machines in any scale.
Why?
Because I like machines!
Whether they crawl, fly, float, or roll...I lke machines.

Or should I say vehicles? Hmmm....I like robots, too. Giant robots.

Oh yeah, giant monsters, too...hmmm...hard to pin down one genre. These days I am doing mostly armor, though.

Any scale is fine, but I prefer the largest scale available.
