My online habits changed very little since joining FSM, and my modeling output has not changed at all. However, human interaction about models is what I'm here for, and discussion thereof. The few models I've managed to finish while being a member of this site have improved a LOT, and most of that has to do with suggestions and tips and hints from members of this forum. Also, seeing finished models never fails to inspire me. I need to finish my current project, then take a little break. My next project will definitely take the better part of a year, so I want to go in fresh.

I've done about 15 since then - OOB tend to be quick builds but the scratchbuilding slows things down considerably........

since I'm FSM member.

Ive finished just 1 model. It took me like 6 months. Before FSM I was finishing models in 1 week.

Now before paint I read forums a lot, same before decaling, same before cut pieces, etc, etc.

So, well, I must say quality is improving in some way Wink [;)]

Well the rate with which I build remains almost the same but the quality has been improving.

in one year at FSM I was able to:

1.) About 9-10 new kits
2.) Construct 7 dioramas
3.) Redo-repaint 5 previously built kits
4.) Make dozens of photochops

and
5.) Make many friends (the most important of all)

Like most everyone has mentioned, I as well do less actual building, but the friendships made, have been worth it, also trading kits has been real great, and quality and things learned has improved. A very fair trade off, imo.

Luckily all the time I spend here these days hasn't affected my modeling output (1 every
3 weeks or so) because I can tune into the forum while I'm at work! When I'm home I save all my down time for modeling. This is one of the few fringe benefits of working a
graveyard shift (11:00 pm. to 7:00 am. Pacific). Tonight I finished my work at 2:00 am.,
which means I've got 5 hours to do nothing but read you guys' posts (& crank out a few of my own), & get paid to do it! Ain't life grand?

Yah, I've added 12 new kits and only finished 1! Big Smile [:D] Fortunately, I've made alot of great friends here whom I enjoy conversing with outside of the forum as well as on it.

my quality is getting better all the time, but i was on the forum basically from the time I took up modeling as a hobby.

in the last year (and a couple months) that I have been modeling as a hobby, I have completed about 16 models.

got about a half doxen sitting in various stages.

Productivity hasn't risen any but, like Greg, the quality has (at least I think so). And I would certainly consider myself more knowledgable on modeling issues and techniques.

the amount has halved but the quality has more than doubled, sounds like a good trade off to me. plus i have got loads of good mates and have got kits in trades that i would never have been able to find other wise. there has been some changes in my social life too, today i was working on my mate Pauls jet provost (i wouldn't have met him if he hadn't read my post on what aircraft bits i own and asked me if i wanted to sell / trade one of them) and tomorrow i am going to Newark air museum for the first UK forum meet (hopefully i won't be on my lonesome LoL) even if i am i will have visited a very good museum and will buy some kits for my stash too.
cheers n beers.

Same here, Joe. Lotsa good friends!

That, and I have never really talked about models with anyone in English before. I had never joined a club until I came to Japan, and it's all in Japanese here, so FSM was my first chance to talk about models, and learn and share my experiences in English!

The FSM forum hasn't really effected my modelling pace...still only 2 or three finished a year...but I'd like to think the FSM forum has increased the quality of those 2 or 3 kits!

Well, ever since the I joined the forum back in november of 2003, I have only completed 3 models[:0]! thats it. A howitzer, 1/72 T-34/76, and a 1/35 SdKfz 251/1. Well, I guess you can count a 1/72 Kettenkrad and willys jeep. When I was first building models it took 2 to 3 days! (oh, wait, that explains alot!Dunce [D)]Blindfold [X-)])
It seems that Most of my models are half built or need to be painted. lets take a look...

1/72 Ferdinand- Needs to be painted.
1/72 tiger I E/H - needs completion of upper hull and turret.
1/72 kuble wagon- needs paint-currently working on it
1/35 Pz IV ausf D, needs paint.
1/72 Ju-55 transport need alotDead [xx(]
1/25 Ford ? also needs alot

I think that is all. Has anything changed for you ever since you joined FSM forum?
