I would have to say Panda's 1/24 B-17. Detail is increditable, full PE, metal gear and rubber wheels. No seams and all the lines lined up....

hehe Just Kiddin.

For me so far its been the Hasegawa's P-38H, Its a doll to build. Small fuselage seam...nothing bad.

The Tamiya 1/25 Centurion has been rereleased several times in the last few years, and is currently available. Price here in Japan is 6,000 yen (about $54 USD).
There should be plenty of them available world-wide.

Best one I've ever built was a Tamiya 1/24 Centurion with individual link tracks and fully detailed interior. This was back in the early 80s and I haven't found another one since, and believe me I've been looking.

This is a very subjective answer, but I would have to say that the Tamiya 1/48 P-47D is fantastic. Even for a ham-fisted clod like me, the results were great; this kit literally falls together. I read somewhere that you would have to work at making a mistake on this kit and I agree.

The only problem I had with it was the fairly prominent seam on the external paper tanks was a little difficult to remove without blowing away all the surrounding detail.

My little Hasegawa C130H is the best kit I have had ... I guess. Thats the problem though. Everything is so perfect there is no frustration, no screaming, no cussing, no FUN Big Smile [:D]

Gimmie some seams to fill or I'm just not happy Tongue [:P]

the best kit of all times is a no brainer digger: the tamiya 1/48 scale P-51D!!!! Wink [;)]

however, ive only built 4 kits and 2 of them are stangs!! i promise i'm not biased or anything!! later.

Ive just taken up modeling 1/35 AFV. Normally I build 1/48 scale WWII aircraft. But being stuck here in Iraq for a year, and seeing and using the stuff on a daily baisis I have taken a liking to building modern armor. I so far realy like the Tamiya line. I have built a Bradley and an Abrams. Both were top notch and went together "sooth as butter."

Would have to go with Hasegawa's 1/32 OA4M Skyhawk. It was the old High Grade Series kit.

Detail was great, fit was great, and came with full PE set, Metal Gear, and Rubber Wheels. For the 80's (or 90's) can't remember. It seemed to be a kit before it's time.

This is really dependent on the builders skill and the enjoyment, or lack there of, they get from the kit. I can list many that I thought were really good and anybody could disagree with me and be right. My personal favorites? The Monogram P-61 and the Monogram P-51D would rank up there at the top. It's really hard to pick one. I can't really pick one from a manufacturer I have never used. Tamiya sounds good, but they're hard to find here and when I do they're usually out of my price range. Samething with Trumpeter, Hasegawa and the others. My builds consist almost exclusively of Monogram, Revell, AMT and Lindbergh. They all have their good points and bad.

I built the same kit mate,no filler needed on this one except on the uderside where the wing joins to the fueselage.........

i guess i should give a serious answer. i havent seen one yet i would say is the greatest. i will say the hasegawa 1/24 jeep went together very smooth. without builder error it would have been an easy build.

Well as of this point in time the Tamiya 1`/32 Zero has my vote. BIG TIME. Great kit.

I build mostly 1/48 WW2 AC, so for me it would be a tie between the Tamiya P-47D kits & the Accurate Miniatures Avenger series.

so far, with me, for sheer enjoyment, great detail, and ease of build, I would put academy's M10 up there. (I've only done about 25 kits so far, so I don't have a broad range that I've worked on) I now have academy's Stuart Honey waiting now, and can hardly wait to work on it.

I'm assuming it has to be the best kit we have built? As I've stated before, Tamiya's Late Tiger I melted together with no hiccups at all. I'd do one again.

That's a hard one.....J-Hulk is right - the Tamiya 1/16 Tiger was pretty darned good - not very much delicate detail, but then again, the thing is meant to be R/C......
The Monogram 1/48 Catalina was a really good build.....
Or the Tamiya 1/12 scale Formula One cars..........

Best kit ever? That's fairly subjective. I don't even think I can answer that. The Tamiya m26 was one of the best that I've built to date, so I'll go with that, but I still have a couple of kits to go that should prove to be very good, namely the Trumpeter SA-2 transporter.

I would not be so bold as to proclaim what the "best" kit ever produced is, but I reckon the 1/16 Tamiya Tiger I is right up there. The only problem I've had with it so far is getting started on it!
