Hello all,
Don't want to step on any toes. But washing your high-quality, expensive brushes in lacquer thinner is a bad idea. It weakens the glue in the ferrule and causes the hairs to fall out. It isn't too kind to the red sable either. The best method is to wash them in brush soap (available in art stores). And then lick the brush into a point but avoid twisting them. They will last almost forever and keep their point.

Hope this helps,
Private Snafu

Never punch anyone that chews tobacco unless you look good in brown. Seriously, the brush soap hint was helpful..I presume that most art supply places should have it? -Ed
