Hello all. I normally have used my local hobby shop for my kit ideas, but as I branch out and start looking for specific kits, I was wondering what some of the best internet sites are for ordering models (selection, price, satisfaction).

Hi there AH1Wsnake,

I can only talk about the ones I have personal experience with and I have never had a major issue of supply with the following:

Great Models Webstore http://www.greatmodels.com
Meteor Productions http://www.meteorprod.com
Squadron.Com http://www.squadron.com

Greatmodels has a great selection but don't bother ordering something that is out of stock as it can take ages to come in. If the item is in stock, you'll have no problems.

The only down side to Meteor is that they don't display how many of an item they have in stock, or if its in stock which is a bit of a pain. Other than that, great service.

Don't be scared off by Squadrons mail costs as they only give you a guesstimate at the time of order, they adjust to the actual shipping cost on dispatch. Overall great selection and good prices.

Cheers

I have also used Squadron and was completely satisfied.

2 others I recommend are:
www.hometownhobbies.com
Excellent selection and easy to navigate Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]
www.scalehobby.com
A newer one so the selection is slightly limited but growing rapidly. Customer service is excellent. Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

I shop online through www.missionmodels.com , www.squadron.com and www.modelmecca.com

All three sites are good when it comes to selection and customer service, but I am very satisfied with missionmodels. The owner has a lot of conversions and kits that aren't available elsewhere.
Erik "Don't fruit the beer." Newest model buys: More than I care to think about. It's time for a support group.

note it's not I, its someone i know. next time, i'll tell them to mark it as a gift
