How many projects do you have in work ?
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 11:43 AM
Try as i might to only build one kit at a time.....it all got away from me as my interests diversified....and i've now 1 1/48 long term helicopter project, 3 various figure projects, 3 various airliner projects & 3 1/144 aircraft projects with one completed in the last 12 months. Am i the only one with this affliction ?

4 to 6 projects, with probably another 4 to 6 that I have tinkered with and reboxed for future build. these include armor, aircraft, and figures. I consider this normal behavior for a modeller! factors that affect this trend include, space, materials, lack of data, loss of interest in the subject, and just plain laziness. semper fi, mike

Since getting back into the hobby a little over a year ago, I have only done one project at a time...start to finish...before opening a box for the next project. I currently am working on my PzKpfw IV Ausf G Late for the GB.

Enjoy your modeling...

Usually try & keep 3 on the bench in various stages of build. While paint is curing on one I can work on another. Have had more, but find 3 best for me.

I'm in the 7-10 group! Blush [:I]
I usually have 1 major project (PE/scratch/resin) and a couple OOB builds going. That way I can switch off while paint/glue dries or just take a break from the major project.
The number is unusually high due to a couple dios in progress.
Of course progress is slow as it's summer in WI.

Ive got four. 2 are halfbuilt, and two are fully built- one needs a wash and decals, the other is wainting for my new arbrush so I can spray some camo.

I'm firmly in the one-at-a-time camp. This is due mostly to time/money/space issues but also due to personal preference of being able to focus on one project from start to completion. I get enough multi-tasking in my job as a projects manager without trying to replicate it in my hobby. Wink [;)]

I just switch out builds as something dries, I loose interest or one of the boys does something bad to one and I shelve it till I feel like fixing it.

You know how it is: you're all antsy, build some pieces, slap some paint on and slam on the brakes. Well at least that happens to me. I've got 6 builds going and in various stages of completion. I thought Group Builds would be a motivator. All they do is make me start something than start something else. Well at least my panther got finished. Big Smile [:D]

I'm finishing up some figs for a dio. I guess this dio is probably the first time I've built multiple kits. I wouldn't feel comfortable starting one thing before I finish what I'm working on currently. Even if it takes a while, I'll finish it before I move on to something new.

7-10 range. A mix of working on one while paint/glue dry's on another, motivation shift's, and pure fustration with one or 2.

7-10 .Therriman sums it up nicely.

Currently I have 1 aircraft, 2 boats and 5 racing cars on the bench and another 3 or 4 partially built back in the boxes in the cupboard. Maybe this weekend I'll get a boat and a car finished but there again I've been saying that for the last month and the wife is talking about paint stripping this weekend!!

Ive got an F-86 that is currently sitting on my desk top half decaled. Ive gotten into 1/35 modern armor since being over here and I just cant get back into the sabre project. while home on leave I aquired a few armor kits and mailed them to my address here. I started on them immeadiatly after they got here. Im foaming at the mouth waiting for my M1 Abrams, M-88, and Saddam statue (you can see the direction thats going) that I mail ordered to get here. Yet there sits the half naked sabre, shivering in the A/C and I could care less. My resin update kit for my 1/35 scale crash hawk got here yesterday and I'm afraid to do anything with it cause I know that today or tommorrow the armor will be here and that will be another dropped project. Dear God! Why must you make my life so HARD!!! ROFLMAO
Maybe my life will be better after I complete this diorama I'm building for the headquarters building here. At this point in my life that is my burning desire. Then perhaps I will lovingly tuck my 1/48 sabre into the rest of her decals. Or maybe I'll just kick her to the curb. Tune in again next week!

Only one at a time for me.
I have an extremely busy life that thankfully, doesn't keep me cooped up at home all day.

I usually have 7-10 going at once. That way, as something is drying, I can work on another kit. I don;t ever have that problem of getting bored with a kit snce I have sucha variety going. Right now, I have the two 1/72 scale armor kits to finish, three ships, one helicopter and one aircraft. I also have two jobs now and only work on my kits whenever I have the time.

Just 3 on the go at the momement:

1/72 Fw190 with lots of PM and resin.
1/72 DFS194 for the Ptototypes GB.
1/48 Polikarpov I-16.

sometimes i get bogged down and something else looks more interesting.
i have 4 going right now, but 2 are almost done.
the other 2 have been neglected for months.

sometimes a group build comes up and i put aside my current kit to join in.

More than 10. I have this modeler's disorder of always starting a new project and finding difficulty finishing it.
