How long does it take for you to put a kit together as for me it is about two weeks.Digger

I build 1/35 scale armor and my time to complete a kit will really vary. I just finished a PzKpfw IV that I built OTB and started on 15 June...so that's...just about 6 weeks. I've built other subjects in just over two weeks. Typically, my builds run between a month and 6 weeks.

I think you'll find a big difference in answers here depending on whether the models are small scale planes, mid scale armor, or large scale ships. I know that I can build a 1/72 scale plane OTB in a week or less and the 1/350 aircraft carrier I built when I was younger took something like 6 months to finish.

Ever since my wife and I had our first child one year and six days ago I've built one kit. BEFORE we had a child I was building about eight to ten kits a year.

HEY,
For me to build a car it usually takes me about a wekk to build it and about two weeks to paint the body and everything, so two weeks, sometimes less and more often than not more.

I work in 1/35 and actively seek out complex kits with LOTS of parts. I love the detail and the opportunity to work with challenging kits is all part of the fun. Depending on how much painting/finishing I intend to do, it usually takes 3-4 weeks to complete a kit. Lately I've been taking on pretty complex projects, so that timeframe may begin to get extended a bit. Big Smile [:D]

My last complete build was about 4 months. It was around Christmas and I got lazy, so who knows how long it really would have taken.

It takes me about a month and a half to two months to finish a kit. I waste some time because I don't like to mess with painting tank wheels and have to get motivated to do paint them. Once I get past that, I can quickly finish the kit.

For my 1/72 scale Armor, it takes me about two to three days building two to five hours a day.

My 1/72 scale Aircraft take me about three to five days.

I take about threee weeks to build my warships, and my commercial ships (Queen Mary, Titanic, Canberra) about two to three months.

But then, I usually build about 7 to 10 kits at a time.

The shortest so far (with good results): 2-1/2 days - 1/35 M1A2
The longest so far(that has been completed): more than 1 month - 1/35 Flak 36

Not yet sure: 1/83 "Mayflower" which I started last February and still uncompleted until now. He-he-he.

That's a fairly broad question. It all depends on what I'm building, and how much time it takes to build it. I build 1/35 armor, and on average, it'll be somewhere around 50 hours for a model. I don't usually get to model for more then a few hours a week, so generally speaking a model will take me a few weeks to finish.

A related question would be: how many hours a week do you model?

For me, right now, it's about an hour every two weeks. Sad [:(]

At that rate, I'll be done with my current model in two or so years.

Naturally, I'm planning on getting more work done soon, so hopefully I'll finish the kit by Christmas.

The F-105 I just finished took a little over 300 hours spread out over 4 months. The F-4 I just started will probably take longer.
