Budweiser Budvar is the original recipe Budweiser. It got its name from the town it originated in, Cesky Budejovice (known as Budweis under Germanic language of the Austro Hungarian Empire days). The Germans adjusted the recipe, called it Budweiser....

Anyway, you might also want to try a couple of varieties of Staropramen as well as Vyskovke Pivovar if its available in Prague. I was out in Vyskov yesterday where its made and its quite good. Vyskov is about 30 minutes north east of Brno by the way.

DJ you might want to sample Budweiser Budwar as well.

It is available in the UK, but should never be confused with it's American namesake!

It is far superior.

Prague is about 3 hours norht west of Brno.

I can't help you with the hobby shops in Prague, but Starobrno and Gambrinus are both very respectable Czech beers :-)

Kevan (Upnorth) is there in Brno. I have no idea how far from Prague that is.

Just wondering, since I'm going to Prague for a few days in early September, if there's anyone from this big family in here..?? Could use some help in locating the model shops and selecting the best beers! Evil [}:)]
