I find my cats can be helpful. Usually one will be laying nearby. Have you ever had a part go flying off into space? Cat finds it every time!

As for feeding intoxicants to pets, Well, Leemitcheltree said it best...

I find a better way is to train them to stay out of a specific room by a little more humane methods.....................
Try positive reinforcement using food rewards like dried apricots - I'tll take no time at all.
