i have been waiting a long time for my own hobby area and i now have one. there is one glaring omission to it though. i do not have a compressor. i have a storage tank but the fitting doesnt work with the ab, so now i have to get that. however i do have a space with my modeling stuff as its centerpiece. and to prove it.

Well I think lots of great looking models will be made from that work bench from this time forward.

Congratualtions Joe.
If you want a good, quiet compressor I would check out the Thayer & Chandler Air Star V reconditioned from Badger for only $99.
http://www.badger-airbrush.com/garagesale.htm
It is quiet and works really well. Ask Heath (kik36) as he has a new one and likes it a lot.

Way to go Joe.

We moved to a new house 3 years ago - 4 bedrooms but we only needed 2 so I commandeed the back bedroom as "MY" room. Now you can hardly move for the workbench, reference library, display cabinets and unbuilt kit stacks! No one is allowed in including the dog and cat and they know it too!

HEY,
Congrats. The funny thing is, that picture is of a nice messy workbench, and you just got it and thats when it is at its cleanest. When i first got mine i kept telling myself that it would stay clean and clear of all crap. Well, i was lying.lol

well thanks all. it is nowhere near done but i am happy.

dwight i can only hpe you are right my friend. i hope some passable subjects will grace the humble area.

mike i thought about a hobby compressor but they can get so expensive. i had my eyes on a smaller home style compressor. but it is about the same price as the one you suggest. going to have to check the badger site out.

it is chris. nice and comfy. but going to have to get a heater for it this winter i am afraid.

al i consider myself to be one of the very lucky ones to have a little extra room i can use.

nicholma this area is unfortunately in the laundry/furnace room. but it is the only one that has a possible vent. i hope to have it build up better soon. shelves and such.

randy i havent put anything in order yet. been rather busy with work and such. just had a chance for a little time of modeling yest. i also have to build a regular desk and shelving. but that will happen soon also. i do enjoy looking at it though. a cluttered desk/ a cluttered mind.Big Smile [:D]

i am in the process of getting the lumber for the shelves. they will be removable so i can put insulation and paneling on the walls. the cpu is also up for replacement. it is an older system and is not going to fare too well i am afraid. but all in all i have found a place i can call my own.Smile [:)]

Congrats Joe on getting your own happy place.
I'd be worried if my bench wasn't cluttered and messy, that would mean that I'm not building models.Shock [:O]

Well done joe! Glad you finally got a place to call your own! Your bench looks great, and I'm looking forward to seeing more great builds come off that bench from you in the future. Just watch out for the pilot light when AB, I want you to be around for awhile!
