Revell/Monogram & Testors are OK (most of the time)... others I don't know. I start to look at the resin replacement parts shop for this...tell ya about it later

well surprisingly Tamiya is real easy, if you pay for the replacement part. Call em up, give them the kit serial number, the sprue letter and they will ship the sprue right out to you. I got mine in like 3 days. Only cost me like 2 dollars.

I have heard the same horror stories about a lot of the other, especially out of country model companies. (Tamiya has a US headquarters in LA, as in Los Angeles for those from Alabama and the Florida Panhandle, not 'your' LA Wink [;)])

I figured for a few dollars it was worth me finishing on time instead of letting it sit there and collect dust.

If yo don't give an address they can't send you anything.
Send them the info they ask for and see what happens.

A few years ago, I sent a sheet of decals which were out of register back to Revell-Monogram. They responded by sending me back a left upper wing piece for the kit.
When I wrote back to them telling them that the decals were the problem, not the wing, they sent me ANOTHER sheet of out-of register decals!

I gave up after that.

hmmm sounds familiar. i needed a replacement part from another company, sent the required money, the details of which part i needed, the decals associated with it(it was a dash plate), and waited. i recieved a fantastic email saying the part had been sent. it arrived and wala a decal sheet but no part. oh well i am going to scratchbuild another and use the decals. not going to go through the hassle again.

Molders, I'm in need of a part for a Trumpeter kit and have been exchanging some emails with Steven International about getting the part. However, I feel like I'm being given the run-around.

I sent an email to inquire and I received a fairly quick response. The information requested was a receipt for the US vendor I bought it from, my address and the part number and what was wrong. With the exception of the address, I sent this information. After a few days, I did not get a response. I replied again asking if the information I sent was ok. Well, they responded by saying they did not get a receipt and that it was a required. Again, they asked for the same information, most of which I supplied. So, again, I sent an email with the receipt attached and all the information required and I have not received a response.

I'm not trying to be a pain, but I'm getting a bad impression of them. Should I? Has anyone else had any problems? Should I be going about this a different way?
