HEY,
He left dude. There was a whole thread about it that i think may have been deleted, im not sure, maybe i just dont se it. A few of the more experienced modellers have left, and although i dont agree with them, i respect their decisions. Its all that i can do because if they have made the decision to leave, that means they are really gonna o it.

I seem to have missed the entire issue - if someone could recount the story on this I would appreciate it.

Never mind - I found the string.

Probably the easiest way to let you know what happened is to tell you to go to:

www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=26371

and read for your self. Things got way out of hand and is really sad.

Yeah, a real bomb went off in the forum's laps this weekend. Totally uneeded, but done anyway.

I'm one of those that will miss Steve's input and have been in the forum long enough to remember some of the really great and helpful folks with so many years experience, or perhaps just an approach to a modeling dilema that had never crossed my mind, who have come and gone.

We can't lose folks like that, as much as I respect their decisions to go, I would hope to see some thicker skins prevail and the "high road" taken a bit more often when a more heated debate starts rearing its head.

On arguments like the one that has seen Steve and monrad leave in quick succession, all I can say is that when someone baits you in such a manner, there is always the option to not dignify it with further comment.

It is often difficult to properly convey emotion with the written word. When someone takes something out of context and reacts poorly, this issue gets out of hand when all could be solved with a calmly written e-mail asking for clarification. Instead of cooler heads prevailing, we have all to often seen things get nasty in public which have resulted in the loss of respected members.
So sad!

pretty sad all around.
and very disappointing that neither could 'jump off' the thread,
and had to ride it all the way off the cliff.
the forum loses a few more good modelers, but the most unfortunate
thing to me is that two 'good guys' went out of their way to make themselves look bad on their way out.

That was certainally an improper discussion and though there have been a few heated discussions in the Armor Forum, I've never seen anyone called names such as those before. Just a very sad affair.
