Congratulations on both making the sale and getting the recognition that people are willing to pay money for your work! Having your work in a musuem would definitely qualify as a worthy accomplishment in my book. Thumbs Up [tup]

a museum - thats pro to me! build a good reputation, and make yourself known. its a wonderful feeling to know that your work is being viewed by more people, expecially when some of those people are non-modellers who are inspired to take up our hobby ! bang that drum, blow that horn. you have certainly earned it buddy

Jim,
Keep up the good work, man. It's a great start. You've broken the ice - make another and give it another try and make sure you leave your contact details with the diorama - then you might find that people will start calling you for contract builds.
Worked for me.......

Cheers, LeeTree

Maybe not a pro, but it gives you a great feeling, especially when something you made is in a museum, got to like that. I just picked up $500.00 for building a 1/35 Hind E !

Why turn pro??? Then you have to make it a job and it won't be fun anymore. Just build, enjoy, and sell to make room and money for more builds. I 've been building for a long time and my quality I feel is not close to what other modelers do, yet I seem to be able to find people who are attracted to my subjects and ask If I want to part with my model.

And I know what you wife is doing, mine does the same thing. She thinks that are clutter and dust collectors and tries to get them out of the house. I finish a model and my wife goes out and sells it off before I can get a chance to oogle at it. But hey, more money and room for more models eh?

Don't know if that makes you a pro, but it sounds like it makes you a very fortunate person. I'm sure it's well deserved.
Congrats!

Bang that drum, you've earned it. Quite literally!

Having your stuff in a major museum is some serious kudos.

Congratulations Jim.

Hey, that's pretty cool. I'd say that anytime someone wants to pay for something you do/did, then that's a pretty good compliment to your skills and love for this hobby. And a museum wanting one of your projects is just as cool in my book. Congratulations!
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

Don't want to bang my own drum but what the hell. Today I got a phone call from my local gallery to say that they had sold my diorama of Napoleons retreat from Moscow made with the Verlinden kits. I made the grand sum of $150.00.Not a lot but I did not want to pitch it too high. This coming in the same year my Rail-gun was accepted by the Warsaw museum of science, technology and engineering.
The downside is,my good lady Tosia is now looking at all my other stuff and mentally putting price tags on them!!!!!! and telling me my head is now too big to fit through the door.Smile [:)]
(edit) I forgot to mention the $25 cheque from FSM a couple of weeks ago as well.
