Custom clear acrylic cases; Who sells them?
Posted by djrost_2000 on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 10:36 PM
About to finish up a U-boat model, and wondering where I can get a custom-built clear acrylic case, or any custom clear case. Does anyone know if anyone sells clear cases custom-built to the buyer's specs?

Thanks,

Dave

I've always used this site for acrylic cases. They have pre-set sizes but will also do any custom size. Great service, quick, friendly, and reasonably priced.

I get mine from a local plastics company. He will make them to any spec I want, and is very reasonable. The one for my F-105G was 25" x 15" x 8" with a mirrored bottom and cost $45. Smaller ones for "Normal" 1/32 warbirds are around $20 or so. The shipping on it would probably be horrible though since they are so big and fragile. His company is Bond Plastics (www.bondplastics.com)

For cars, I was in Wal-mart yesterday, and happened to see they had 1/18 scale auto cases for $7.00. Don't remember the maker, might have been Maiesto.
