oh that elusive bench!!
Posted by saltydog on Thursday, October 14, 2004 11:05 PM
funny how things can change in a 24 hour period of one's life!! i haven't had time to hardly sit down since ivan blew through town nearly a month ago!! being a residential builder, i've been busier than a one legged man in an Censored [censored] kickin' contest lately and my bench has been neglected. the ol' bench beckons to my inner man for attention, but my flesh is weak........tired.......worn out!! the more i visit this site and see the simply excellent finished builds being posted by you fellows, the more i long to ease back to the bench and..............fondle some styrene.......................handle the ol' iwata....................stir up some paint....................weld a couple a seams..........future some canopies..........sand down some flash...........oh well.......maybe this weekend................hopefully............you guys are leaving me behind with the amazing builds being posted lately. keep it up, it nudges me along and i'm still able to enjoy it through your builds. later.

Sometimes there things that need to be done first and you are helping folks rebuild their homes. Sounds like a noble thing to do. You can catch up later, Chris. Besides your planes are always faster than my tanks. LOL.

hey Chris... look at it this way, with all the money you are making you will be able to but more kits when you get back into a regular groove!

Maybe buy some of those simpler kits in the mean time that don't take as long just for the fun of it. The Revell-Monogram F8F is one that probably can be done in 2 sessions... but it still looks good from the outside!

Oh yeah...

All that talk of fondling the styrene has me worried about ya brother! Wink [;)]

I know exactly how you feel. I too have been divorced (or at least separated) from my hobby room since Ivan. I'm hoping to get back in there this weekend (fingers crossed).

Enjoy your modeling...

Chris, hang in there guy, Ivan will be forgotten someday, but modeling goes on for a lifetime. Hope you get back to the bench real soon.

Robert i haven't been to P'cola since ivan, but i've heard its one of the hardest hit areas. i've viewed some arial photos of before and after shots of the beach front.......devastating to say the least. i've been to Gulf Shores working and the damage there is phenomenal.

Take heart, Chris - one of the best things about models is that they don't spoil.
They'll still be waiting for you after a day, a month, or a year.

I hope you can answer the call of the plastic soon!
