The 'Truly Magnificent Model' Award...
Posted by djmodels1999 on Friday, October 22, 2004 7:13 AM
Well, we're soon coming up to the second anniversary of this Forum and I was thinking back at what I've done, writen, seen, built,.. since I joined and thought it would be interesting to see what caught your eye...

I'm talking here about stuff made by FSM members only. I've seen countless of amazing models in here, and many came from reports from shows and the like.. I can remember the U-boat shown at EuroMilitaire which I posted a little while ago, and a great looking Tu-144 that Brian (J-Hulk) saw in Japan somewhere... But those were not member's models...

The ONE model I saw in here, built by a member, that really took by breath away was Mike's (Renarts) Tiger I in a 'tiger' scheme... Cool [8D] Can anyone remember it?

Unfortunately Sad [:(] the link to the pictures of the beast went away with Shermanfreak Sad [:(]Sad [:(], so I can not show it to you again. I think I may have a copy at home on my PC (I'm writing from the office now), but maybe Mike can humor me and post it for your pleasure again..?? Pretty please! (it's now done! see below!)

So that was my 'Truly Magnificent Model' award winner.. What's yours!?.

I'd vote for Pixelater's 1/48 Stuka in winter camo. A truly outstanding piece of work.

Too many models I haven't seen in other forums, to pick one. Just not one 'winner' here.

Excellent question Domi. Yeah, I remember the Tiger, sweet and original. Pix's Stuka is amazing to say the least, excellent choice. There have been so many great builds that it is impossible to name one that would classify as say best. Madmodelfactory's incredible work, Styrenes's Marder, Erush's Marder, Moses' King Tiger Zimmerit (anthing he zims), Dwight's 88mm church scene, and Wbill's Leopold are just some of the outstanding work that comes to mind. There were so many more that you hate to leave anyone out. Excellent work everyone and thanks for sharing that great work.

So many models, so little memory. Mikes Tiger and Erush's Marder do stick out, mainly cause they were two that I got to see first hand.

Renart's Tiger with the "real tiger camo scheme" comes to mind...

I'm leaning towards Pix's last Me-262. Truly awsome work.

Hadn't seen the Tiger before, spend most of my time on the Aircraft Forum, but that is a very impressive piece of work.

As has been stated, there are too many to pick just one. All the above stated models are great and Swanny's builds are awesome to my eye as well.
