Revell/Eduard 1/72nd U.Boat.

If anyone has just started the Revell U.Boat, stop now and wait for the eduard P/E set.Just picked it up today and it's a beaut'. here in Poland we have to wait for ages for kits to arrive and some companies are not here at allSad [:(] But we do get Eduard quick.Plus only 70 Zloty/20 dollars. It is a brilliant set with 6 pages of instructions and will really make the kit pop out.An added bonus is the size is big enough you don't need eyes like a hawk to use everything on the fret.

that good to know.. I saw that kit the other day at the hobby shop... not much of a sub guy but it looked good... and hearing the detail is not something to cause my eyes to go worse than they are is good to hear too!!!

That's great news. I've been holding back on building my U-boat until a good PE set comes out.

It is really a good set,you get the metal deck sections, net cutters, hatches and hardware. The deck gun gets lots of bits as does the conning tower, plus all the brackets and bits scattered all over the hull.Just lots of removing moulded in details.

Jim, I was looking at the Eduard site last week, and they have a plethora of photos of the new PE on a kit. Approve [^]

It looks stunning, so stunning I'm even considering building one, especially after looking at a couple of builds over on Hyperscale.

Just need to build a shelf long enough, and obtain relevant work permit from the household authorities!!!!

From what I read on Hypewrscale there is also a replacement wooden deck set, as well a resin bollards etc.

The sky's the limit...................wait, shouldn't that be the stygian depths are the limit?

Just so.When it first came out we all said what a great kit and a reasonable price! Then the extras started arriving.I have the resin figures.the white metal figures. The P/E set.Brass rod to replace all the railings.Wood strip for the deck. Before you know it,that cheap kit is up with the high end Tamiya's.
I am making two by the way.One will be waterline just like the box painting, that will be for sale.the other I am mounting on a board as a wall hanging. Two brass rods through the starboard side and hang it on the wall like a stuffed salmon.Good Idea if stuck for space.
