!@#$%^&tamiya lexan paint
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, December 2, 2004 1:56 AM
i have just gone thru an entire bottle of tamiya acrylic lexan paint for use on R/C car lexan bodies. boy am i upset. the stuff wont behave ! if i thin it enough for it to spray, it pools and bunches into globs! the coverages is hence garbage ! as a result, i have finished one whole bottle and i cant even do the *details* on a 1/18 size body. totally dissapointed. they brush on well, but i want to spray them. has anyone had a similar problem with paint in general doing this ?
btw, i am thinning with tamiya thinner and yes i did prep the body properly beforehand.

Do what I do, throw the stuff in the garbage. I hate Tamiya paint.
OK, feel free to bury me in counter-battery fire, but I think the stuff stinks.

I'm starting to agree with you peridexion. After using Gunze's acrylics, Tamiya just doesn't compare, IMHO. The only reason I still use Tamiya is that it is alot easier for me to get than Gunze. But I still like Tamiya's TS and AS spray cans, once you've got the hang of using them they give great finishes (just don't use the clear over Tamiya decals).
