Uh-Oh!! I guess just for curiositys sake I better go and "check this out"!
The "War Dept." found the stack of kits I snagged with the 50% off coupon..almost had to stay outside with the dawg! Only thing that saved my skin on that one is I picked up the Titanic and spun a really nice tale on how good it will look on the mantle!

Outstanding! Floor plan mapped, display area cordoned off, diversions planned. Potential loot list in hand, I'm off tomorrow and life will be a bit sweeter Wink [;)]

Conveniently, my Sociology class ends this week. Used textbook = new models.

Gotta find a way to get this past the "boss" without getting the "look". For some reason the excuse that "it's on sale" just doesn't fly anymore! Confused [%-)]

Yeah, that is kind of a problem. I always feel kinda guilty when I sneak a new kit into my stash, even though I don't think my wife really cares too much seeing as she always feels bad about the money she spends on her hobby.

Thanks for the link. As if I need an excuse to buy more models for myself. It's too bad Hobby Lobby didn't go the full distance and give us 50% off, but 40% will be good for me.

I looked but didn't find anything that really turned me on. EXCEPT how manufacturers can market products so obviously stupid! Granted, WWII has been over for nearly 60 years but there are history books and some old codgers that could help them.
"Indianapolis Battleship"? Come on. GI issue jeep in the "Hogan's Heroes" model? I don't think any jeeps figured in the TV show about allied POWs.

hmm wish I had read this sooner Digger... would have bought ya one just for the fun of it!

I only picked up a couple today as I deplenished their stocks during the 50% off sale a couple of weeks ago...

Got the venerable Revell DE 1/72 Schnellboot S-100 a SWEET model!!! about 5 or so 26" x 12" sprues of tiny 1/72 parts... they all go into a 26ish inch hull... this is the second one I am building.... the first one although it looks nice, was also my 3rd model after getting back into the hobby and now I am practiced up to do this one nice!! cost? 8 dollars...

the next one: the 1/48 Tamiya "Aces of the 8th" P-51, this is the Glamorous Glennis of Chuck Yeager fame... however with the decals I ordered from Great models it will be re-done as a Red Tail "Tuskegee Airmen" plane.. not sure which one yet... price? $16.00

Then I got a few nit pick models... a 1/72 Fi.56 Storch as a backup for the N. Africa GB which is in the works... 2 dollars (Academy), a 1/72 FW-190 (Academy for 3 dollars) etc...

All in all a good trip! And the best part? I found Chrome Yellow paint for my Grumman Widgeon in the enamels at Hobby Lobby, which meant I didn't have to drive the 41 miles to the hobby shop I support in Christmas traffic to get it!!!... cost? Priceless!
---Tom--- O' brave new world, That has such people in it!

I picked up an F-102 and F-106. But I'm starting to agree with MackP. I've been going to Hobby Lobby for several months and I'm starting to get bored. They got some good kits for a department store but they haven't significantly changed their stock since I've been going there. Now there are only one or two kits in their normal array that I'm even sort of interested in. I wish they'd get some new stuff in. ( Or just something different.) Maybe I'll write them a letter.
