You have to be an IPMS member to enter anything. You can sign up at the time of entry though.

Not sure if you have to be a member for any of the seminars and stuff though.

Hey, I've got a couple questions about the IPMS USA nationals.
First: What does it take to enter the convention? Do you have to register yourself? Become a member?
Second: Are there any perks for members attending the convention, or is everything open to everybody who comes?

Thanks for any info you can tell me.

Yeah. I plan on going. Plans change though. I'm in NY so it's quite a trip for me. I plan on entering in the juniors category. Is there a juniors category?

I'm toying with the idea of going, since my brother (who lives in the Atlanta area) has offered to let me crash at his place. We'll see what the wiife says.

Seeing how I pass right by the place it will be at on a regular basis at work, I will be taking some vacation days to be there. Will be nice though not haveing to worry about getting a room or a plane ticket. Just jump in the car and drive 45 minutes down the road.

If it does fill up though, there are plenty of places to stay with in a short drive, probally cheaper too.

I hope to attend this year. I have family in Atlanta, so I'll likely stay with them.

Actually, as of Monday, there was a thread on the IPMS Forums indicating that they've just crossed 390 vendor tables.

Not planning on attending myself as I just cannot afford those prices for 4 (or even 3) days.

A couple things and a question or two:

1. Just went to the IPMS USA site to check on progress and found that the Renaissance Waverly Hotel is ALREADY at or above 75% capacity for this event. I made my reservations this morning, as well as registering for the contest. If anyone is thinking of staying there, consideration should be given to getting reservations soon.... Just a heads-up...

2. Also found out there is the expectation of at LEAST 300 vendor tables! Woohoo!! Cool [8D]

The questions:

I know this is early, but....
1. Any of you folks out there planning on attending?

2. Has any thought been given to having a place/time where the forum members can check-in, get together, meet, and just chat? I'm all for it. Any chance that maybe Kalmbach/FSM could set it up since its their forum and they're gonna be there anyway.... Bad idea?

Thanks
