The problem with "uploading" pictures is that it doesn't appear to be an upload to the FSM forum servers. What this means is that for your picture to display, it must be already resident on a website somewhere else for it to be permanently visable in a forum post.

I discovered this when I tried to post a pic from my destop to a message I was posting, but when I removed that pic from my desktop, that message no longer had that picture visble, implying there actually isnt an upload, but rather a reference to that pic/location.

Having said this, I have used OFOTO.com and Yahoo.com to post pictures. These sites and other have free picture storage areas, so you can upload your pics for everyone to see. Then after uploading your pic to a picture-hosting website, you can then do one of the two following options:

- cut and paste a simple hyperlink (i.e http://www.yoursite.com/yourpic.jpeg) in your message. Users can easily click on the link to be taken to the picture's site.

- The link below explains a bit more about how to incorporate a pic in your actual post. But again, this method implies that you have already uploaded your pic to a website somewhere. This board will not "host" (store) your picture for you.

Hope that helps,

RonUSMC's sticky at the top of this forum topic has offered to host pic's for free. Also, if you have an internet connection (which you do) your provider should provide you with some amount of disk space on their servers for a personal web page.

With that you can just upload your pics there, and then using the tags around the Web address to your pics you should be able to then display them here.

Also if you go to my hobby forum I have and album forum where you can create a photo album and upload your pics there, then post a link on here to your photo album.

People don't need an account to view, just to create and post a photo album.
