Now I know a lot of people have had bad experiences with eBay but it's not the forum it's the users. Not the amount of feedback ,but you have to read the negatives and see if they are legit or just a bunch of whiners, when you look at the feedback of someone you might deal with look at the feedback of the persons who left NEG feedback for him, you would be suprised at how many that person has and is just leaving vengeance feedback. I have made good on some things on ebay that were out of my control because honor demanded that I do such.

His name and that he has 5 negatives raise some concern. I too would be contacting ebay to get some personal information to contact him with. And if he plays hard to get, then lodge the complaint with ebay.

Too bad. But it's a risk you have to run when you go the B-bay way. Personally, I've forgotten all about the site, and will try my hardest never to buy anything from e-bay again. I've bought from other online sources, and even trading boards, and have never had problems anywhere except for e-bay.
Also, with names like 'sum_random_dude', how secure can you really be? Big Smile [:D]

Thanks Probuilder and others -

A quick update. I found his number as per Jewels link, and called him. He seemed a very nice blok who appeared
amazed that my airbrush hadn't turned up, and insisted on putting another in the post tomorrow.

We'll see....

If you have any problems with getting them to respond Email me and I can tell you a few tricks that work at shaking up slow ebayers. nothing illegal but it does get them motivated to respond.

Skii.

My worry with that A/B is that he doesn't give a maker/model, so what will you do when you need spare parts, acessories, etc??

Tell him to refund you the money and keep the A/B than go and get a named model from a reputable source.

[edit]
From the pic I got a pretty good idea about who makes that A/B and what spares to use. Wink [;)]

Thanks guys.

I've emailed him to say I really don't want to give him negative feedback but if I don't hear something back I'm going to have no option. I'm going to request his phone number as per your suggestion jewel

Thanks for your help again guys

I agree with Rick - it's too soon to give up. He left you positive feedback on the 14th which isn't too long ago. Have you requested their contact information (ie phone #) through Ebay?

http://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/isgw-buyer-protection-steps.html

We only had one significant problem with a purchase on Ebay and when we finally got through to the phone # provided by Ebay (no answer for days and days), the young man's mother answered the phone she was just at her son's apt to pick up a few things to take to him in the hospital. He'd been in a skiing accident and no one was covering his auctions - she didn't know how. Poor kid had 100% positive feedback on over 300 sales until that month.

All may not be lost. When you pay by cheque the seller will usually wait until it's cleared into his account. Although the electronic transfer occured on the 10th , the seller may not recieve confirmation for sveral days unless he asks at his bank. I'd wait a week or so before I gave up.

Regards, Rick

Sorry to hear about your problems with Ebay Skii. I've completed over 500 transactions on Ebay and only had a problem with not getting an item once. I guess I have been lucky. Did you file any fraud charges with Ebay administration? I would do that before you do anything and keep trying to contact him. Is he from your country or is it an overseas dealer? I might give it a little more time also. But I know how it is when you pay good money and don't receive what you paid for. Good Luck with it and I hope you get what you paid for.

He currently got 7 auctions selling the same item by the looks of it.
Personally I would not buy an item like an A/B on Ebay or similar auction site.

Next time go to the LHS or buy from a reputable online dealer.

Well I thought I'd treat myself to a half-decent airbrush for Christmas, and had a brows through Ebay

Bad move I guess.....

Won the auction on 1st Jan, sent him a cheque which was debited from my account on the 10th, no goods, no reply to any emails or ebay messages.

Really gutted about this, and my zest for this hobby has taken a bit of a dent I have to admit.

I guess I'll stick with my little revell £10 jobby, if the bug ever bites me again
