Does anyone have any suggestions for online resources for kit collectors? Any book recommendations?
I have acquired a model kit from 1945 that is a box of wood that had to be carved to complete the model. I read somewhere (FSM I think?) that hand carved wooden models were popular in the wars years because wartime resources were so limited. The models could also be donated to the military for recognition purposes for troop training. This kit is for a series of Totem Poles however that must be carved and painted. They were manufactured in Chicago by a company called Totem Industries. I has a price tag on it ot $1.95 fro Marshall Fields. That's all the info I have on it. I was looking for more trying to learn a little bit about the kits and whether or not there is any value in it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
