Final Count as of March 15th!
Posted by Duke Maddog on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 2:04 AM
Well, I finally took the time to count and add up all my models that I've built over the last 30+ years. This count includes models I built for pay for other people, that I have photographic records of, as well as one Gift model I made for someome. It doesn;t include the 9 to 12 models that were smashed beyond ability to rebuild during several moves during my youth, simply because A) I can't remember how many were lost, and B) I don't have photographic records of them before they were lost.

Okay, I've kept you in suspense long enough. The final count of models I have completed, (most of which I still have!) is.....

Wait for it.........

Man it's lot!

The final count is:

953 Completed models!

If you want a breakdown of what I have, just let me know. I'll post that later if anyone is interested!

Thanks guys! Scott, you're right, I need a hobby!

At least now I know how close I am to 1000 models. I should be able to make it to that point by the end of the year.

I store them in one room of a two-bedroom condo where I live with my wife and two cats. The door stays shut to keep the cats out, and because my wife hates to look at my Hobby! If you want to see pics of that room, check out this Thread:

Half of my Hobby Room is featured near the top of Page 2, the rest is further down near the bottom of Page 2.

Thanks Tanky! Many of my earlier models dont really have much in the way of quality, but then they were built when I was very young! I also have great respect for you tackling that PE the way you do.

Wow, that's quite an immense output. How many are armor/armor related out of that count? Do you have an online record of these photographs?

Out of this count, 387 are Armor/ Army related, including helicopters. Minus Helicopters, I have 341 vehicles, tanks, artillery, and scout/utility vehicles.

As for an online record, check out this Thread:

http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=33466

I am working on getting individual pics of every single model so that I have a photographic record of them all. There isn't a online photo site available to me to post all those pics though; not without paying, which I can't do yet.

That's why my wife insisted on buying a two-bedroom condo. One rooom for us, the other for the hobby so she wouldn't have to look at it! Check out the above link to see what that room looks like! Wink [;)]

Dave, lerxst103, thank you guys. Your appreciation motivates me to keep going!
