Take your Gundam to work day.
Posted by overkillphil on Saturday, March 19, 2005 10:29 AM
The other night I started dinking around with a Gundam a friend of mine gave me, and decided hey this is kind of fun, it's a subject that doesn't require an excessive amount of technique or tools. So anyway work has been pretty dull lately and if we don't have customers there is nothing to do. So one day I threw a few basic tools in the box took it to work and sat at my desk and built Gundam Sub-assemblies. On the clock.

So has anyone else ever gotten away with this?

I built and painted a few Biliken vinyl Godzilla kits (Kin-Goji, Mosu-Goji) when I worked at a music store...encouraged by the boss, no less!

Chances are I could get away with it, but I shudder at the thought of the consequences of being caught... Blindfold [X-)]

I would if I could but I can't. But I have built a small one during our lunch break though and it's currently sitting on top of my office computer right now.

It came pre-painted.... just required a few pieces to be snapped on. Big Smile [:D]

It's been a while, but I've taken sub assemblies to work before. 15 years ago I worked at a place where our office (computer programming) was secluded enough that I even built several kits from begining to end over time in the office between coming in early, lunch break and staying late.

I worked at a hobby shop and building models on the job was encouraged! Of course that was only as long as it didn't interfere with customer service. But working up here in Green Bay, WI means that hardly anyone would come in on a Sunday when the Packers are playing. All we'd do is turn on the TV and break out our kits and start working. That was a blast!
