How many dads received models for Fathers Day
Posted by lpolpo22 on Monday, June 16, 2003 8:22 AM
My wife knocked my socks off with an Academy C-97A Stratofreighter in 1/72 scale (She also gave me a new pair of socks and some duct-tape). Hope other dads received model related gifts as well. This is a great hobby.

I did! My daughter of 13 got me a Revell Panther, while my wife told me I could get the 1/32 Hunter from Revell (which I just got). More coming up soon as my birthday is just around the corner!

Well-- since I didn't know that the wife was buying that display case, I ordered myself a 1:48 scale Devastator and entered three other ebay auctions which I won LOL-- a Catalina, a German pilot and ground equipment set, and a A-M SBD-1 that was started and I am going to remove the paint and redo :)

I got the Academy 1/72 B-29 Bock's Car. It'll look good alongside the Enola Gay. - Ed :)

I mentioned it would be nice of the kids, both over 20, to get me the Academy 1/32 F-18C and they ended up getting it and the MRC UH-1C Shark. I was in the 174th AHC and plan to build several of our birds.

Clear Left!

I'm not a Dad yet so I didn't get any models yesterday, but I built my Dad a diorama which included a M-113 like the one his unit had in Vietnam.

Almost on point with the topic.

Technically, no. Two of of my kids left their projects at school and the third gave me some nice bbq equipment. I kind of pre-bought a Pz III and told my wife it was from her. For myself, I purchased Trumpeters M1A2, after waiting for weeks. I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews from you guys, but was pleased nonetheless. If I screw up, it was only $20! Likewise, my wife did a little detailing of her own!

Lucky gits! The only real joy I received on Father's Day was being able to finish the cockpit on my A-10. In fact, the only mention made was when my 3 year old daughter came in and said, "Happy Father's Day, Scott." How sad is that?

I am glad to hear that others made off like bandits... Think I'll go cry now.

No kits, but something just as good - a gift certificate to my favorite hobby shop!! Big Smile [:D]

Unfortunately however, the wife didn't see fit to do any "modelling" of her own. Sad [:(] Oh, well. . .

I got a aztek A4709 airbrush set, that was after a trip to the hobby store for what ever kits I wanted. That also follows the Missus buying me a Traxxas T-MAXX r/c truck. dang was this a good year.
