Been snoopin' around Evilbay!!
Posted by saltydog on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 9:19 PM
never really been a big fan of evilbay, but for the past couple of weeks i kinda went off the deep end and got some really good deals on some kits, and yes, paid WAAAAAAY too much for a couple.

anyway, i've been modelling for a while now, and just venting my passion mostly on WWII fighters, now i think i'm ready for a change. the israeli airforce desert camo has always been attractive to me, so, i've been collecting materials and kits to do an array of modern israeli fighters. when i began lookin' for the 1/48 hasegawa F-16B/D, i quickly learned i was hunting ghosts!! so, someone at my LHS recommended ebay. in the last 3 weeks, i've paid way too much for an F-16B, and 2 F-16D's. i plan to make the F-16I "Sufa" conversion from one of the D's. the other D will have the Peace Marble resin spine from cutting edge, and the B will.............just be a B!! also picked up a great buy on a 1/48 hasegawa A-4M shyhawk that is plan to build up into the israeli version. i have an F-15C in the stash, and i'm thinkin' hard about dollin' her up into an israeli fighter as well.

this is what i call my first "meaningful" project. i'm actually doin' my research (and enjoying it actually). probably take a while to complete all of these delightful projects, but i'm happy as a lark at the moment!!

i decided to sell my industrial type compressor that i used in my apartment for the last finished build i had, so now i'm compressorless again. i'm saving up for an iwata studio compressor, but that gives me time to get all my stuff together for the israeli undertaking.

thanks for listening guys!!Wink [;)]Smile [:)] later.

Hey Chris, have you looked into getting some seamless resin intakes for those? I have one for my A-7E and it looks great, all smooth inside with no seams to sand. It might be worth scouring the lhs for, or if you have time, ordering one from Seamless Suckers. I'm looking forward to seeing what types of cammo you do, should be excellent. I really liked the look of that F-5 you did like that a little while back. Keep posting pics as you go and keep us informed my friend!
