weighted wheels?

Not familiar with the waxed paper method but I have used the same idea with aluminium foil and a hot iron. Sticking globs of plactic to the iron is NOT a recipe for domestic hamony and getting aluminium foil of the wheel is a lot easier than trying to get the wheel off the iron.

I read that you can put a piece of waxed paper on your heated clothes iron, then place yor tires: rubber or plastic on the wax paper so it don't stick to the iron and push slightly to give the impression of the weighted tires...Sounds good but have not tried it myself...."RC"

I agree with all the above statements. Just a small flat spot will do.

Some of the weighted tires I've seen in kits and from aftermarket sources are so buldged that if they were on a real aircraft, the stress of landing on them would be enough to tear the tires straight of the wheel hubs.

I agree with Rick. Having first hand experience with aircraft, the tires look flat. You can make your own by sanding a slight flat spot on the tires. Just enough so the aircraft sets level. You don't need a bulge, just a slight flat spot.

Weighted wheels show some bulge of the tire at the ground resting point, representing the weight of the real vehicle. Unfortunately, many of the weighted tires included in kits & provided by some AM sources represent flat tires more than a realistic slightly bulged.
