Productive Weekend Part Four-Lots of Pics
Posted by Duke Maddog on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 11:25 PM
And now, the final installment of my wonderful weekend of fun! The last couple of things I was working on of course was all the small aircraft for my John C Stennis. I got the canopies painted on about three-quarters of all the planes. I also assembled the helicopters as well:

You can barely see it, but I had to add the horzontal stabilizers on the Seahawks. They were not part of the kit.

And finally, in between all of this, I started my Trumpeter 1/72 scale Japanese Type 69 tank. Here it is all built up with the top hull test fit to the lower hull:

This next pic shows the details I finished on the turret, as well as some of the painting I started on the lower hull:

This last pic shows the progress I made as of Sunday night:

One of the things I should warn anyone about who wants to build this tank: The turret halves are molded so thinly that they border on vacuform! Makes it real hard to sand and trim without doing too much damage!

Well, that is all the things I've done this weekend. All the work you've seen over the last four posts was all done in the two days on Saturday and Sunday. Of course, I took some time off to go to church and cook meals for my wife, as well as did a couple loads of laundry and dishes. Still, it felt good to be able to relax so much in my Hobby Room after having spent the week before working so hard at demolishing kitchens in preparation for new cabinets!

Comments are welcome!

Duke, that's got to be the BIGGEST example of a modelling weekend I've ever seen. You did a great job on these braille-scalers. Do snap a pic or two of your entire collection when you get a chance to.
Great work! Must have felt very fulfilling at the end of the weekend Big Smile [:D]

Thanks guys! Yeah, it sure was a lot of stuff that I got done, and it felt good!

Not only that, but there was one other model I finished off, but forgot to take a picture of it! I'll get that posted soon.

Zokissima, as soon as they all get done, I'll shoot a pic of everything I worked on that weekend. Provided I can find a table big enough!
Thanks for looking in guys!

Thanks guys! Glad you stopped in to see them. I have a couple more pics of two more kits I finished, but didn't shoot pics of. I'll try and get them posted later today.
