Just once....
Posted by wibhi2 on Saturday, June 11, 2005 11:05 AM
Just once I would like to complete a kit where:

parts didn't fall viscerial black hole of the floor

AM pieces didn't cost 3 times as much as the kit

that PE peice that I just spent 40 minutes manipulating with miniscule finese didn't fly off in tweezerpult

I didn't knock over that bottle of glue

I didn't knock over that bottle of paint

that my airbrush painted like I see it in my mind's eye

that I could paint my models like Rembrandt instead of like Bassat (a great artist BTW, diffrent venue)

That I didn't drop the damn thing after I just finished it.

Just for once.....PUH LEEEZZZEEE

3d modelling is an option a true mental excercise in frusrtation

Some how I have always felt that a subtle mixture of craziness and masochism is a requirement to be a modeler.

Whibhi2,
No. You're not allowed to avoid these pitfalls. You can't just go and change the fabric of the Universe. These things are supposed to happen. If they DON'T, then there's something drastically wrong.

Cheers, LeeTree

parts didn't fall viscerial black hole of the floor - Solution, paint your floor white.

AM pieces didn't cost 3 times as much as the kit - buy really expensive kits, then the AM parts will be cheaper.

that PE peice that I just spent 40 minutes manipulating with miniscule finese didn't fly off in tweezerpult - use medical clamps and hemostats instead of tweezers. It works for me...

I didn't knock over that bottle of glue - use the glue to attach it to a base, like a AOL startup CD, or drill a hole in your workbench for the glue bottle to sit in.

I didn't knock over that bottle of paint - see above.

that my airbrush painted like I see it in my mind's eye - Close your eyes and your mind when you airbrush (it's a Zen thing). I guarantee you'll be surprised when you open them!

that I could paint my models like Rembrandt instead of like Bassat (a great artist BTW, diffrent venue) - That is a combination of good equipment, patience, and a willingness to learn.

That I didn't drop the damn thing after I just finished it. - Sorry, can't help you with the gravity thing (yet) I'm still working on my magnetic field machine...

Just for once.....PUH LEEEZZZEEE

Good luck...Jeff
