Just have to vent a little........
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, June 26, 2003 6:11 PM
I finally got the good side of a deal on Evil-Bay last night (or so I thought) I won, All Tamiya 1/48 scale:A6M2 Type 21 Zero, Focke-Wulf FW190-D9 and Messerschmitt BF109 E4/7 Trop. All seperate auctions and all on my 1st bid. (Hey $11.99 each + shipping)

So, I get an email today from the seller saying that the total is $30.54 EACH US FUNDS!?!?!? With the original prices marked in pounds.

Now, let me just say, the auction page states all prices are in US Currency and a flat shipping rate of $6.00 each (US) with a break if more than 1 auction won. Seller's location is US. Not a word about funds in pounds.Needless to say, I was fuming! Angry [:(!] Angry [:(!] Angry [:(!]

I fired off a reply asking what the deal was and as of yet, have heard nothing. I hope I can still get these kits, at the price I bidded for them. It's been a long time coming since I have had a decent auction won.

Did I miss something?? Here is the link:

Wow, I'd be frosted too. I don't see anything other than US dollars either.

I feel some negative feedback coming on.....Evil [}:)]

You have a valid complaint. The sale is clearly in USD. The seller has a USA location. There's no way this auction was in pounds......

Click on the "Safe Trading Tips" link on your auction page. Read the "What if something goes wrong" section. You would be justified in contacting the Square Trrade arbitration contact if the seller doesn't get back to you in a couple of days with a satisfactory response.

Good luck.

Well,

The good thing in all this, is that I didn't send a payment. If I don't hear from this person, believe me, I have some creative feedback! Evil [}:)]

I'm curious as why he is registered in Malaysia, but the products will be shipped from the U.S. Perhaps that is why he wants payment in pounds? Have you sent a complaint letter to Ebay?

I smell something bad about this one.
The seller is over seas and the kits are in the United states?

Sounds like you may have stumbled on to a scam.
