Awesome! and CONGRATS! for bringing another young one to the hobby. Big Smile [:D] I got started in the hobby Thanks to my father and I hope to pass it on to my future kids.

Wow that's great to hear that a teen these days wants to do something more constructive than just stare at a t.v. and press buttons. And bravo to you in sharing a hobby so rich as modeling with you grandson.Party [party]

Any one have a suggestion as to which P-40 kit to buy? I am looking for something in 1/48 scale.

Run, don't walk, to your LHS and get that young man a kit and get him going!

My grandfather helped me with my first models, so I know how nice it can be to share these projects. He tought me the basic (but important) steps such as test fitting, not using to much glue, read the instruction etc.

Good luck and more importantly, enjoy!

"Sniff, sniff", seems like a dream to me. I'm just starting to make some inroads with my son on modeling. Good luck, sounds like a winner for you both.

My son and his oldest son (16 years old) came over Sunday. We got into a discussion of WW ll, which my grandson is interested in. Out of the blue, he asked me if I would build him a P-40. I looked at him and told him I would help him build it if he wanted one. To my supprise he said he would be happy to build it, only if I would give him some hints so he could finish it like one of my models. I told him it would take him some time befor he became experienced enough to finish a kit like mine. He told me he has the time if I would be willing to help him gain the experience. Looks like I have a task on my hands.
