modeling history question

Hey Rick-being a franco-american, I always thoght Frog was made in France-but didn't they originate in Poland?? Ribbitt!

Frog no longer exists, but many of their kits are still around being marketed under other labels. Some of the early Academy kits in 1/72 were modified Frog tools.

Hey Robert-checked out that link-their 1936 builds look pretty good. I remember Frog kits when I was in Europe-are they still in production?

It may be hard to nail down one single company or one single model as being the first in either respect.

My personal guess would be Frog with their Penguin series. These (possibly first) plastic models kits were issued between 1936 - 1949.
