Lucky bastards. Very nice score on the T-34. Have fun with that T-72. It's not the greatest of kits, but it'll build up nicely with some work.

Wound up not getting the B-17. I took a closer look at the box pics and thought it looked a little cheesy. Picked up a 1/72 scale P-47D instead. Not sure why as I promised myself I wouldn't any more 72 scale stuff but oh well.

Scored Revell's new F/A-18E Super Hornet and their stand-by A-10. Both in 1/48 and both for $9.50. I love when Hobby Lobby has these sales; however, my wife hates it because I have not had time to build the kits purchased from last time.

So many kits, so little time!

I see this post every month about hobby lobby sales. Man, I really wish there were one of those stores in Washington State! Even though I don’t build models very often, it would neat to shop at one and browse around looking at the varietyCool [8D].

Me too! The closest I can get is Michaels, which is WAY OVERPRICED in Canada! They've only got AMT and Revell Cars and Airplanes at $26 and up. The LHS lists the same models at $12 and up. Sure they have 40% off coupons, but that only brings them in line. I remain loyal to Jim at BC Hobby and Shaver in Kelowna.

So long folks!

I've lived near and far from Hobby Lobbies in my career. Generally speaking, their non-sale prices are high. Usually at MSRP (manufacturer suggested retail price). The 50% off sales are great though.

I first ran across one when I was stationed in Texas and there was one in town when I was in stationed in Alabama. Then I had a six year drought while stationed in NJ and Massachusetts. Now that I'm in Kentucky, I have one a little more than 30 miles away.

They carry the more mainstream Tamiya kits (and now several DML and Academy kits), but the selection is still very limited compared to a real model shop. Hobby Lobby is more like a Michael's arts and crafts store with a better model selection.

A LOT better!!!
Michael's used to be fairly good but, in the last few years, they have gone downhill fast as far as plastic kits go.
I'll be going over in the morning to see if I can pick something special up for a friend. Are you out there, Gino? Approve [^]

Theirs a Michael’s about five miles from where I live. I remember they had nice selection of model kits there. They carried variety of Revell kits and a few Tamiya’s—at the same time they were really expense too. Like mention above, their quality had really drop to bottom. The only things they have now are car models and tried up Testors paint for a dollar and half. It’s really sad…

I just got back from a recon mission to the local HL. Gotta wait until tomorrow to make my purchases.
I was slightly surprised at what I found this time around. They are now stocking Trumpeter kits along with the normal Tamiya, Academy, Monogram, Accurate Miniatures, Hasegawa and Revell. I know I'm leaving a couple out but, I can't think straight right now!! Waiting for the Trumpeter 1/32 A-7 to hit the shelves and another 1/2 off sale after it's there!!! Big Smile [:D]

Same boat as you. Michaels blows when it comes to kits. Mostly cars, with a few planes and some lousy diecast kits that can be assembled. Yuck!

Hey there, Tigerman!

It’s to bad theirs not many hobby shops that resides here in Washington State. The only one I know of is the American Eagles hobby shop in Tacoma, about 30 to 40 miles from where I live. I don’t know if you’ve been there or not, but they have a vast selection, mostly aircraft and armor.Big Smile [:D]

Got a few things
1/444
Academy F-4F Phantom II
1/72
Academy F4U-1 Corsair
Revell P-47D Thunderbolt
1/48
Academy F-177A Stealth Fighter
Accurate Miniatures TBF/M Avenger for George Brush
Revell/Monogram F-16 Fighting Falcon
Tamiya P-47 Bubbletop/ and Razorback
1/32 Revell F4F-4 Wildcat with book

Funny thing was I went there twice first time took them all up to buy and the checkout lady was going by the sale list for what kits were on sell if you look on the list it has 50% off with the Tamiya logo and a few others in the background and since Academy and Accurate were not on the background she said they were not half off so me and my dad left not buying one thing. After we got home called the store and said it did not matter who made them. So we went back and brought all of them and by the same lady and had no more trouble.

Had my wife pick up a Tamiya P-47D Razorback and Me-262, both in 48th a couple of days ago. Today, I took my sister's boyfreind and introduced him to the half off sale. He bought about 50 bucks worth of stuff. I picked up the Revell 1/77 Tri-Motor, 1/35 DML Sdkfz 251 3 n 1, and a Tamiya 1/35th Jeep.

I couldn't help myself. I went back yesterday and bought the Tamiya 1/35 M4A3 105mm Howitzer. They had the Dragon 251 Ausf. "D" 3 in 1 left, but I want the 251/7 with the 2.7 anti-tank gun. The 251/7 also comes with a lot more accesories than either the original "D" or "C". Of course it was an engineer vehicle.
