Well... it was going to Australia right? I mean, thats pretty dang far especially with all the customs and security. If you were in Boise that is one thing, but Australia is another.

That is totally unacceptable, I trust you won't be ordering from the same place twice!Smile [:)]

Gents,

While I'm not making excuses for anyone, I think it's best if we don't engage in vendor-bashing here. Most of the time, problems with orders can be resolved with an email or phone call. Let's try to give the vendors the benefit of the doubt. I know for sure that many vendors that travelled to the IPMS Nationals are still trying to catch up with orders, and in some instances, are still travelling. Many have been out of the office for week or more in preparation for the Nats in Atlanta. As a result, things tend to slow down until they can get caught up.

The problem with complaining about a vendor in a forum such as this is that it usually turns ugly and reverts to mob rules, which we all know is not the most effective way of solving the problem.

I would suggest trying to resolve the matter directly, and if they don't offer a reason for the delay that suits you, then simply stop doing business with them.

Just my opinion on this fellas...I'm not saying that you shouldn't complain, I'm just asking to be careful how you do it, especially here.

I've placed more than 180 items in over 50 orders with GM in the past two years and have had exactly two items cancelled because of nonavailability and only one order had a discrepancy that was promptly - and politely - corrected.

Just want the other side heard...

I ordered from GM once and only one time. I now buy from online shops that I know will
deliver what I buy (missionmodels, squadron, modelmecca). It's a shame greatmodels can't seem to ever get their act together.

I've had only good experiences with them, having purchased 2 AB's in the last 15 months with no problems at all. Sounds like they dropped the ball for you, however.

I hate that for you, Simon. I remember who you told me you were ordering it from. I'll call them for you if you want me to. I have nationwide long distance on my cell phone so it doesn't cost anything.

Yeah, it does! I'm STILL waiting for the parts that were "In Stock And Will Ship Tomorrow" 10 days ago.

I just thought I would post about my recent and ongoing experience with an airbrush supplier as I have seen numerous posts directing potential purchasers to them. This is not meant to be a bashing session just my experience and you can all draw your own conclusions. I am however very disappointed.
Before ordering I E-mailed the company regarding shipping costs to my address in Western Australia. A reply was received stating these would be $24.95. I duly placed my order through their secure web site giving all credit card details as required and expecting a quick response. Two whole weeks later I receive an E-mail stating the shipping costs as $40.56 and can I confirm my order. I did confirm (even at the increased cost) but requested the charges be checked and that I be sent notification once my order is processed and dispatched. A further 8 days have passed and again no response. None of my E-mails have been "returned" so in this electronic age I assume an instant data transfer. I have ordered on-line before and always been delighted with the speed of service so what are this company doing? If anyone is interested they can E-mail me and I will let you know the company in question but I reckon someone there loves their jazz (and why wouldn't they located where they are) - not so cryptic clue. Anyone else had a similar experience?
