A filk is when you replace the lyrics of a well-known song, in the grand tradition of Wierd Al Yankovic.
I have a modest example here. I have begun a filk of "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" by Blue Oyster Cult. Please see if you can finish it:
You see that old ERTL kit
In the second-hand store.
It's been been sitting on the shelf so long
the box is yellowed and torn.
(chorus)
Why won't these decals go on?
I've even tried my solvaset.
Oh please, let these decals go on.
You ask me why I'm weary,
well the parts, they are all warped.
I've clamped and puttied and sanded,
still looks like a dog-chew-toy.
Why won't these decals go on?
I've even tried my solvaset.
Oh please, let these decals go on.
Enjoy!
