If you're any where near Fayetteville, check out the LaFayette Scale Modelers.  You can get information from Mike at Haye's Hobby House in Eutaw Shopping Center.  They are a great bunch of guys.  I was a member, but I moved some years ago.  From what I understand, the club is still going strong.

I think there is an IPMS chapter in the Raleigh area.  The Eagle Squadron, I think they call it?

I know this is an old topic but I have the same questions. I would be willing to start a website for North Carolina Modelers for general information, forums for posting and what not.... I live just north of Charlotte so all these locations are out for me as well..

Hi from Asheville- we had a club but it pretty much disbanded when a few moved away, etc. I'm moving to Charlotte in a year and I am hoping there are some serious clubs there. Anyone want to take bets on the rain? These hurricanes have really caused some problems in the mountains...

Greetings from Greenville. I'm a member of the Carolina Maritime Modelers Society, which meets at the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort. The next meeting is at 2:00 on Saturday, September 24.

This is a fine, congenial group of people who are interested in ship modeling in all its forms - warships, sailing ships, rc, etc. We're always glad to get new members. Anybody with even the slightest interest in ships and boats is more than welcome.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

I'm in Wilmington,N.C. I believe that there are two clubs located down here; one in Wilmington, and one in Leland.

New Bern is even farther for me than Raleigh. I live in Mebane, small town, between Durham and Burlington. I've thought of trying to get a club together myself, but I thought that maybe with my being a newbie, that would be a little foolish.

I know of a club that meets in New Bern, NC. I think their web address is www.ecpmod.com. I've wanted to go and sit in on a meeting, maybe even join up, but lately the job has made a hash of my free time.

I'm at Camp Lejeune, and there was talk of a loose "club" getting together, but I think with all the comings and goings around here that it's kinda trailed off.
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

Any modelers from North Carolina??

Are there any modelers from North Carolina here? I was wondering if there were any clubs the NC folks would know about, and if not maybe one could be started.

The closest one to me is in Raleigh, a pretty good drive. With gas being what it is, driving to Raleigh is wasting money I could be spending on kits!Smile [:)]
