my ups guy told me he had heard their rates might be going way up because of the fuel problems if it is true than fedup i mean fedex etc should follow
i am wondering with the increase cost in oil products
and plastic is an oil product well....... Angry [:(!]

UPS, Fedex and the other couriers try to build their gas surcharge in. I work for a printing company and the gas surcharge from the freight company we use just went up from 9.9% to 13.95%. That was BEFORE the latest price gouge increase!

It will eventually filter down to the model manufacturers. Guess we better buy lots now! Wink [;)]

In Valley Springs,it seem like the gas prices change evey hour!Me and my mom went to the grocery store and they were raising the prices,we stayed for an hour,and when we came back,it was changed again!

Styrene is a petroleum based product, so look for the price of plastic, and of course kits, to go up. Same thing happened during the oil shock in the70's & almost killed the plastic kit hobby business.

Resin prices must be going up as one of the casters I've pre-ordered a kit from said he'd have to raise the price(not for the pre-orders luckily). Expect other plastis to follow suit.

Remco-It means "what you see is what you get" referring to the excellent visual display that CPU monitors have nowadays, as opposed to the crappy screens of earlier days.

If prices go extremely high for plastic model kits, most of us (who don’t have a gigantic stash) will have to go back to old fashion balsa wood and tissue paper. Sigh [sigh]

I just heard the next community over is $3.09 a gallon, I think the gouging is finally over. Never thought I'd look forward to $2.80 again...

when it does drop i bet it will level off about $3 bucks a gallon

PS. Up here in Green Bay, WI it's at $3.00/gal. That's a Godsend considering that a week ago it was between $3.10 and $3.25 depending on which station you visited.

$3.25! I wish gas prices where that low, I about $5,50 or more here in the netherlands
(and yes I did the math, from euro's to dollars and from liters to gallons. It's 1.55 euro a liter)
