Can you be a little more specific. Aircraft, armour, ships, branch of service, time period, nationality, etc. It is much easier to answer a question when we know one of the above.

im building a truck that i converted into a hunting truck for a gift for somone ,i seem to like a lot of the military tanks como and was wondering iff some one could give me a few tips on the primary colors....

For that subject any combination of flat medium/dark green, tan/brown and black would do the trick.

For the kind of model you're building, you can use anything you want. Since you live in Virginia, you can use most any shade of green, tan, brown, yellow and black year round. In the autumn, use the fall colors. You can paint the darn thing in the late-war WWII German Ambush scheme. Lots of alternatives.
