NEED CONTACT INFO FOR GEORGE CHAIDES
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 1:01 PM
I'm trying to reach George Chaides who, with his partner, produced the exquisite "Time Machine" models in the early-mid-1990s under the Granite City Mechanician banner. I placed an order for one of the models shortly after they were offered.

He gave me his phone number years ago, but has since moved and that number is no longer valid.

A UK phone directory search has been fruitless. Google search indicates he and his models are topics of discussion on this board from time to time, so I thought I'd turn to the community here.

Any information as to current phone number, e-mail address and/or mailing address would be appreciated greatly.

If anyone can help me, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks!

Hello, I too ordered this model 13 years ago. I was in touch with George for many years as well as with other people who ordered this model. Some did get their model, but George has had to deal with a professional life that kept him away most of the time from his cherished project. He actually moved to the US for a few years but I heard that he is back in Scotland. I do know some people who have been in touch with him recently and I should have contact information soon. I suggest that you contact me directly at my email address (click on my ID) so we can discuss this further.

Fullscaleman,
I worked with George here in Aberdeen, Scotland, until he left to return to the USA for two years. I understand he has just recently returned to Aberdeen, but as yet he has not called me. Should you need any further info. about those exquisite models, feel free to drop me an email.

Fullscaleman,

George Chaides is now back in Scotland and is presently setting up his computer for internet/e-mail access.  He is staying in a village near Aberdeen and I have been in touch with him about starting up production of the Granite City Mechanician Time Machine models again.  He is planning to have a workshop built at his home and we should be back to work on them in April this year.  In the meantime, if you need further information, please post here and I can answer any questions you may have.

    Dear "Fullscaleman",

It was my co-worker, Colin Russell, who saw your inquiry about me in the forum section of this web site.  You are obviously one of our subscribers and I sincerely hope I have not caused you any anxiety resulting from the length of time it has taken me to respond.

I don't know whether this reply will be available to be read by all in this forum, but I ask you to please contact me at [via the forum's email button] so that I may be able to tell you all about it and give you my current address now that I am back in Scotland.

Be assured that the "project" is still on-going.

    Yours sincerely,

     George Chaides

Hi there,

I have had an order placed with George for around 10 years years now and have been keeping in touch via excanged emails and telephone conversations with him over the years, but have not managed to reach him for over 2 years now as he does not seem to be answering his email.

Do you have more recent/up to date contact details for him, or can you pass my message on to him. He should still have my personal email address and telephone number and I would like to hear from him.

Jason

Jay, that post by George is over 6 years old, and it looks like his account has been deleted.

You may already have these sites, assuming they are still used. If not, try these.

Thanks, but yes I have checked these sites out.

I noticed the posts were rather ancient but having not had any reply from him for some time it was kinda my last option.

I have had to wait for some time for a reply in the past as he often works abroad, but never this long, although the email address I have for him isn't coming back it looks like he isn't checking it any more.

Perhaps a lost cause now...

Thanks for trying.

Jay

It's a shame you didn't have more notice. Hopefully, waiting the extra 4 months will be worth it in the end

If anyone has not yet paid, don't.

Not from personal experience with this seller, but we see folks here get their boxers in knots after a couple of months of a back order.
